MockSMTP App Reviews
I installed the software on Mavericks but it is not woking. Tried to send via Mail program and a custom Java application but both do not work. As there is the feedback form on the support page is also not available anymore, I can only submit feedback here. It seems that the application is not maintained anymore
Is not compatible with Sierra anymore. Maybe just open source it? Last update was 5 years ago. Also: Performance when handling several 100 mails is really poor.
Cool tool
Very usefull tool to develop website on local machine!
WARNING: This version does not work on macOS Sierra
The app won’t start. It has not been updated since 2011 and the developer has removed the support/feedback form from his website.
Honestly, this program is great, and does exactly what it says it does. I use[d] it often in my development workflow. However, it will not launch on Sierra. If the developer updates it, I will give it 5 stars, but for now, do not purchase it!
Great app for web developers!
This is an excellent application for web developers. Its easy to set up and works as promised.
The app works as advertised. I found no issues in the software at all. However, for a developement tool that serves a single function, it costs too much, especially when compared with other tools that do much much more.
Its simple and its a GUI. Yes everyone knows that OSX comes with postfix or similar tool, but when Im having to learn yet another library / framework / language; Id rather keep stuff like this basic and brainless. (Besides Im not going to run my own SMTP server in production anyways.) It does what it advertises. I think the developer dropped the price in half but Im sure its still too pricey for most people, hence the lack of 5 stars. For me, its worth the money for the convenience and time it saves.
Was considering writing a mock server in Python or Node, or even plunking down $20 for OS X server to configure its SMTP to do the job this app does out of the box. I would lose more than $10 worth of my time setting something like that up instead of just buying this app. Works perfectly and does just what I needed.
